Restoring Your Right to Own and Carry Firearms

Pennsylvania law allows certain individuals to petition their county court for relief from a firearms disability under 18 Pa.C.S. Section 6105. Courts can grant relief where a conviction was vacated, a full pardon was granted, or enough time has passed since a qualifying offense. A separate path applies to people prohibited because of a past involuntary mental health commitment, where relief may be available under Section 6105(f) once a court is satisfied the person can safely possess firearms.
