Matthew I. Jaynes, Esquire
Matthew I. Jaynes dedicates his practice to criminal law, personal injury, family law, and civil litigation. Since beginning the practice of law in 2018, Matt has participated in approximately 40 jury trials as lead attorney and has gained a wealth of courtroom experience in mainly Westmoreland, Fayette, and Indiana counties.
Matt graduated from Connellsville Area High School in 2009. He then attended Washington and Jefferson College and graduated in 3.5 years in 2013 with a major in Political Science and a minor concentration in History. Matt completed his law degree in 2017 at the West Virginia University College of Law where he was an active member of the mock trial team and represented clients as part of the College of Law’s Family Law Clinic, which aids indigent clients who may not otherwise be able to afford an attorney.
After law school, Matt clerked for the Honorable Joseph M. George, Jr. of the Fayette County Court of Common Pleas and began working in the Fayette County Public Defender’s Office in 2018. He is a member of the Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Florida bars.
